We are very fortunate at our school to have our FROGs who are such an integral part of the school community. All parents automatically become members of Gentleshaw FROGs when their child joins the academy. Parents and members of the school community can get involved in a variety of ways if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available or for just one event.

Fundraising ideas

Thousands of pounds have been raised, which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school.

Our FROGS are about much more than just fundraising though. They also support closer links between home and school and provide an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the academy and working towards a common goal.

Just some of the FROGS fundraising has enabled the academy to:

·        Have the playground marked with circuits and games to make the playground more enjoyable at playtimes.

·        Have an amazing minibus to use for school trips and sporting events.

·        Give each class £50 to spend as they wish!

·        Have the Early Years outdoor area astroturfed so that it is functional no matter the weather.

·        Have lockers for Years 3 and 4 to put their belongings in each day.

·        Purchase an array of  new and exciting books for all age groups.

·        Watch a Christmas pantomime at school.

·        Recycled ECO friendly benches and picnic tables for outside.

·        New outdoor equipment to support the children playing games and taking part in sports.

Our planned purchases and projects are:

· Creating an ECO garden which can be used by children for learning and recreation.

· New and exciting signs and pictures for our outdoor spaces.

· A bedtime book shack where children can borrow a fantastic book to take home for the evening.

· Improve our ICT resources.

We shall be publishing a planned list of events for the 2021/2022 academic year in September and asking anyone that can help for any of the events to complete the online form.
