relationships and SEX EDUCATION (RSE) AND health education

RSE is a fundamental subject within not only Gentleshaw but nationwide. The new curriculum has been made compulsory from September 2020 and teaches a vast array of essential life skills focusing on areas in which the children would not be exposed to if not delivered effectively within school.

RSE spans the breadth of subjects such as PSHE and Science, allowing the children the opportunity to develop core knowledge for the world outside of Gentleshaw.

We make RSE accessible, age appropriate and enjoyable for all year groups across the school. Our aim is to ensure our children are engaged and enthused whilst learning about the wider world and how it can impact upon their lives.

Please find more information about RSE and how it is taught at Gentleshaw by watching the video below.

Thank you for watching this information video and participating in our consultation period which has now closed. The RSE Policy is now with the board at Future Generation Trust awaiting formal ratification. We will be starting to teach this curriculum in January 2021, and will ensure that the finalised policy is published before this
